Retail and Christmas Music

 Ok, I am not Christian by any stretch, however I loooove music. And while there are some songs that have definitely been overplayed, and we ALL know which ones those are! I do have some favorites that fall into the Christmas music genre..

 Now, I work retail part time, not a ton of time but I can absolutely tell you that since I've started that a couple years ago, the holiday music - SUCKS the SOUL out of me! 

I can't listen to it when I'm in the car or at home most of the time, and if one of the dreaded songs comes on when I am changing radio stations I instantly cringe. 

Can I listen to those favorites I have? I think mostly. If anything though, I much rather listen to classical at this time of year more than anything.  I really have missed listening to classical music in general lately. Maybe I need to create a nice long playlist on on my spotify of classical favorites.

I wish the playlist that the retail store I work at was better. It would be nice if it was the same fucking songs every time. I am sure there is a financial reason but good gods, lets not make people lose their damn minds with that shit.

A wee little update...

Its been quite a while!

Hmmm...maybe a bullet list would be the best way to get things up to date:

• Took the kids bowling with my awesome bf. My kid didn't have a lot of fun. I think part of that was not knowing which arm to use for it and because he rather look/play better than he did. He's a lefty and sometimes you can use that or your right hand, everyone is different...I know my Dad is a lefty but plays tennis with his right.
• I had a ton of fun though
• Life is busy:
• Band Booster Fundraiser
• Cleaning house
• Work has been kicking my ass for the most part
• Life in general!!
• Holidays
• Thanksgiving was awesome
• Spent it with the bf's family, who are like him = awesome
• Went black Friday shopping = wow
• Yes, I will be paying off my credit card for another year - YIKES
• Also I gained like 2-3 lbs. Good food :) I will lose it by the end of the year I hope!
• Signed up for 2 more college classes
• Tested and all homework completed, so far in this class I have a B, which I am totally happy with!
• I now have the supplies I need to make my own deodorant, which I plan to do this week :)
• I am Amazon's bitch, it's mostly how I do my holiday shopping it seems
• I live in a great neighborhood - nothing has been stolen off my porch yet :)
• Apple Cider Vinegar is great for helping you stay healthy and not catch whatever people have at work!! So is Oil of Oregano :)
• Oh I do need to make some more chicken stock soon :)
• We had a day of snow! Nothing worth shoveling, but it was beautiful
• We've caught up to Walking Dead season 5. We've only missed a few episodes of that, should be caught up soon.
• I really don't watch a ton of TV anymore or read as much...but I love that the things I do watch and read are always with my boyfriend :)
• The Christmas tree is up, decorated.  Lights are on the house :) It's amazing and wonderful to be able to do that and I just love owning a home :)
• Yes we celebrate Yule more than Christmas, but I love the season and the good things that it can bring in out everyone :)
• Just finished off another scarf :) I am now in the process of making a basket :) Oh and I have like 3 more scarves to do. I love it though :)
• Still very happy I am not smoking!

And most of all, I have absolutely incredible boyfriend and awesome son :) Could not ask for better!!

Also, I have this love affair with music. One of my favorites right now is Pentatonix - I have 3 of their albums and yes ok they are all the holiday music ones, what can I say :)

Friday Freakiness

Well, I accomplished getting signed up for college today, 1 class in my program is available (I'm kinda late in starting for Fall) which is a management 103 class. I'm getting my residency stuff worked out since they had me as an out of state student and I'm really really not. Class starts 10/1 though, all on line, which is awesome. Associates of Science in Business Administration is a start. I will try to figure how many classes I can handle each semester. Thankfully some of my old college credits will transfer over :)

It's exciting and scary. Not freaky bad scary. It's just - I mean, it's been almost 20 years since I was college (holy fuck) and I am not nervous about failing, I know I won't, it's more of this - shit I am getting this done and it's really happening. Oh wait, that almost sounds like when you go into labor !!

My kid is bringing his french horn home today, so we get to practice on Sunday, which is awesome. I love playing still and it gets me back to that :)

Tonight, I don't know what I'm doing lol. Maybe I will attempt to make a cheesecake. And try out this organic sugar wax thing (on my legs, ahem) and see if it works to any degree. Maybe I will read (hahahaha, of course I am reading tonight) and definitely doing a load of laundry.

My period is hopefully winding down. I certainly am not in any back pain today (hey, I even did 1 walk so far and some squats!).

I am not, repeat NOT, thinking about my shower appointment tomorrow.

A late night thought...

Do you ever have a really bad moment, where you just want to cry and scream at the same time? And then you calm down, much later on. After smoking too much and punching a bag. And then you are able to logically or analytically review that one bad moment. And then you think to yourself - you know what? Fuck it. It is what it is. That you can't stress yourself out over something, even if it's something that's already been agreed upon before. It - just - is.

And then you hear this one song - this magically awesome song - and life is just 1,000 times better.
