Snow pics of the Blizzard 2016

We dug out the alley behind the house, after digging out the 2 cars...Yes, THAT MUCH we dug out :)

Oh and I totally got some that snow off the roof yesterday. Freaky!

Day One below:

Snow. In March.

This is a stray cat I feed. I keep trying to get him to come inside, if only for a night or to warm up. So far, no luck.

And it seems I have a bird...that eats cat food...the tracks are going to the dry food at least.

A quick Moment

This weekend, I'm gonna make some more chicken stock. I am probably feeling this way because it's snowing out.

This is also a good weekend to finish up some of my class notes I need to get done and start on next weeks homework. This class is definitely more than my last class. I like the subject though, which helps! It's just hard to get my Kid to understand I need time to study too and that I have homework to get done. He has a hard time giving me time to do that, but we're working on it!

Also, I just feel so blessed :) I tell my boyfriend this (on a few different occasions) about how life has turned around for me, in so many awesome and wonderful ways! I would not trade what I have now for anything :)

I need to write more!!

A Bits and Pieces Update

Because it's always easier with bullet points:

  • I was sick all through the holidays, but that's ok so was my bf's family was as well so it was a happy shared misery :)
  • The holidays were pretty damn awesome :)
  • I got my kid an XBox, which surprised him, which = awesome.
  • I used vacation days so didn't have work for 2 weeks. Which was good because I was sick anyway. It was a nice break though!
  • I've had my gardens percolating in my head for a month straight now. I can't wait for spring!
  • We've had snow 2 times. Today's was pretty light.
This was on January 6th. All powder!

Too bad I slipped going down my steps on the back porch. Thankfully it was a slow decent and I didn't get the wind knocked out of me this time. Suffice it to say, I am waiting on the treads I ordered to come in from Amazon.
  • Work is awesome, I love my job.
  • My elbow is acting up so I am wearing my brace again. Blah
  • I've started back using MyFitnessPal. It's been a whooping 2 days lol. But hey, I'm back at it :) I have goals for this year :)
  • I've started drinking my coffee black (ok ok I put cinnamon in it). No creamer or sugar. Who knew!
  • The kid is grounded for ditching school. He's still having a hard time in school but has pulled up 2 of his classes grades this quarter. I've started the search for tutors.
  • I miss my friends and family! Working on talking/texting/seeing them more :)
  • Life has been busy. I mean, damn, seriously busy!
  • I have gotten quite quick at crocheting scarves it seems. My bf asked me about a blanket. I started at him like he was crazy. Made a couple scarves and thought and thought and thought about HOW much time/yarn it would take for a blanket. Ahem. So I've started one. I made the first 4 rows, but realized it's a wee bit too large. So. I am gonna pull them out and make it a tad bit smaller :) Just a tad though. I do have a king size bed :)
  • Tiamet, my 13 year old cat, has thyroid issues but not also minor kidney disease. She's at a good weight though and pretty active so I think she'll be ok for a couple years :) I keep an eye on her though :)
  • I've also ordered a whole house humidifier because, damn, the air is fucking dry!
  • My size 12 years are just starting to get a little bit loose :) I didn't realize I had bought a size 10 (had this at my bf's house) and they fit pretty comfy. Wow. I still need to let a few more pounds go though before I buy more jeans. I want my 12's loose first :)
    • Yes, I have been pretty good - push ups and squats are done almost daily (notwithstanding those days I fall and stuff)
  • I am hoping to get my shower fixed this year, the one upstairs that is.
  • I am also hoping to see about getting rid of the pine tree in the back yard. O.o
  • I love cooking. A lot. I am researching a pasta maker now :)
  • So this whole month, since I was sick in fact (so going back the last 2 weeks of December) I have not been taking my supplements. I am really missing one of them, the Myo-inositol. But I am curious to see if I get my period on time. Gotta love PCOS and how it tweaks the body! I have a new supplement I will be try, Maca root (it has something else in it as well but can't remember right now). I have noticed my temper is not always filtered, it's not horrible mind you but that's because I'm aware of it, but it's much harder to control (and no, not always successful). Other than that though, it hasn't been bad.
  • Apple cider vinegar kicks ass and hands out cards.
  • One of my goals, since I barely have time to read anymore, is to take 1 day a month and read that whole day :)
  • I've started another college class. I have to do homework tonight. Next class starts in February. Exhausting but I am loving it.
I will attempt to start writing in those brief free moments I have :)

Frigid Friday

I went to bed with a small headache and woke up with a Migraine. I fully blame this snow storm that came in yesterday and is still lingering. I took some meds this morning and let them kick in before I got out of bed. However, I've had a dull headache most of this morning. Whatever, it's not driving me crazy or to hide in some dark corner so it's ok. Now, I will probably go to bed early though as a result. I'm drinking water and yummy hot tea (it's Moringa tea) and trying to stay hydrated.

Ok, so funny thing just happened...one of my coworkers comes up to me and leans in and asks me "don't you get pissed off when you don't get any answers" and of course, I had just taken a bite of a donut hole (shush) and said with a mouth full of crumbs - "I don't give a shit" and he's like "what?" and so I swallow said crumbs and state "I don't give a shit". His face shows surprise and he laughs a little bit and says "Well, that explains a lot".

I did explain as he walked to his cube was that whatever happens, it's out of my control, so therefore I don't give a shit (and that's been my attitude about those types of things for the last several years). Because, really if the job changes and I don't like it, I will get another job. If the job doesn't change and others do, well, there you go. I am not unfamiliar with the company I have worked for changing policies to suit investors and executives that is not the best for it's employees. Either you deal or move on. So, it is what it is (and yes I know some hate that phrase). Getting angry over it isn't going to change what some person high up in the company is going to do.  It just gives you anxiety and unhappy thoughts and well, who really needs that shit?

Anyways, so another coworker is eating, either nuts or carrots, loudly. Can I smack them? No? Well, damn.

It is damn cold outside. This morning, it said it was 10 degrees but felt like -7. Good times! Right now, it's 16 degrees but feels like 5. Suffice it to it's fucking frigid outside.

Here's my tree in the back yard (wait, am I getting rid of this one? I am not sure yet) from last night. Snow was still falling but I thought it was pretty :)

And here are my new boots (ignore the laundry I was folding there in the background). I got these at Dick's Sporting Goods store. Now, the thing I didn't like about Dick's ? It had no one really "working" there. Sure they have some college age kids who were doing things, but I didn't feel like there was an "adult" with knowledge should I have questions. These boots, I was lucky. I had asked to look at 2 pairs, this one was the only one left AND the only size was size 9. I was lucky that they fit and look cute :) I searched on line, JC Penny's, Kohl's and a couple others. Dick's had seemed to have good prices and boots. I guess I should not have waited until the 2nd snow storm to hit before thinking about getting winter boots! But it all worked out :D

Tomorrow I'm getting the legs waxed. Sunday we head out to Great Wolf Lodge, which is an inside water park :) It's just a hair shy over 3 hours away and I think we're going to have a great time there! I did get a 1 piece bathing suit as I didn't want to scare any kids!! I am being sorta sarcastic...I just don't think I want to swim around in a string bikini top that might come undone while on some of those rides!!

I was able to ask the kid how his day went yesterday, 1st day back after winter break. He went through each of his classes and nothing happened to - him - specifically. He knew some other kids that got into trouble and he seemed to take that as HE had a bad day. I talked to him and repeated, true it's sad for them that they got into trouble, but YOU didn't and didn't have any problems. And his one positive thing for yesterday was the snow :) It's a start!! I am looking for a therapist for him, someone to talk to. Of course, school was closed today.

I need to get my hair cut. Not this weekend, I will see if I can schedule an appointment for next weekend. I don't want to grow it out yet, I still have this need to keep it short, especially the back for some reason. I don't know why, but there you go. Maybe I will grow it out more next winter. Will see!

I could use a nap right now.

Think Happy Thoughts !!

It's Thursday, this week is almost over and everything is back to normal at work.

New Years Eve? Sucked.
New Years Day? Sucked.
New Years Night? Awesome!

That's it in a nutshell. I've come to realize my Kid hates holidays and makes them unhappy things to happen. Suffice it to say, that is something we will be working on this year. I've asked him to think of ONE good thing that happens, each day, for us to talk about. It's a good thing to learn how to focus on the positives instead of the negatives. Not to mention it can help avoid hurt feelings...

I have finished off my finances for 2013 and started getting my 2014 working. Fun times.

Tonight, I am going to clear off the dining room table, use it for an actual DINNER and then put the puzzle I'm working on the half that won't be used for meals.

Back to drinking more water again. Yeah! I've felt so dehydrated lately and it's not a nice feeling. This means I am back to pee'ing a gazillion times a day too though...I've also started jumping rope - when it's not raining or snowing outside. It's kicked my ass now several times, but hey, since I can't do my walks at work without freezing my tits off, it's a nice substitute! I will be starting the Tai Chi DVD next week :) Also taking Inositol again. Will see what other supplements I'm going to bring into the mix (well, besides an overall vitamin) in the coming weeks.

Wearing my old size 12's today. I need a belt with these (not the new ones, those are still tight). I've ordered some new bras and hope they come in soon.  It's weird buying bras more regularly - that might sound strange, but in the past I just didn't wear them out so much - but maybe it's because these are actually cute and lacy and whatnot. I don't know, not really sure I care other than I might need to adjust my budget for more regular purchases! I'm not arguing that's all :D

Also: it's snowing right now. Big Fat White Snowflakes.

And I have to go to the store tonight, which will be fun :) I should probably invest in a pair of boots for cold weather. Hmmmm. I think I need to make sure to get hot chocolate, hot cider and stuff to make s'mores :)

In other news...hmmm...we has plans for this weekend :) LOL Cats are in my head it seems!

I am getting my legs waxed in anticipation :)

Anyways, I am gonna go stare at the pretty pretty snow falling outside!

Happy Thursday - I am starting to LOVE me some Thursdays

OMG  - It actually snowed for a blink of an eye here today! Wow! I wonder what this means for this winter. Is this winter supposed to be worse than last year?? I should probably check that out!

So I got in some the stuff I purchased and 2 of 3 items didn't work out. Which is how it is sometimes when ordering stuff online without the ability to see if it fits. I am not too stressed, as the ones that didn't fit were not that expensive.

This one fit:

These did NOT fit:
and

Now, the cute black dress? Hmmm, if I lose the weight I want to lose, I bet you money I will be able to wear it. Their Large is really a size 10. Right now, I am basically a size 12 in most things and sometimes a 14 depending on the style and whatnot. Some more or some less, you never know. Both of these were made in China and the bodice shipped from China so I am not going to ask for a refund. Too much of a pain in the ass! The bodice, well not sure if I can EVER fit that one, because damn it's made for someone who's idea of Large is a pinky or something. I probably know someone who's a stick figure that I can gift this too. I hope. Will see.

Tonight is Pizza night. Tonight I am going to make rice krispies damn it. Hot sticky yummy goodness, all right there.

I have some laundry to put away and some dishes to do and probably sweep the house again. Never ending sweeping.

I haven't heard from the vet. I've called every day. Ahem. Annoyed is what I am starting to get.

Work is busy as all get out. Plus I am leaving early a lot lately for the Kid's band practice, football game and Monday is his dental appointment. Good times baby!

Oh and Thursday? It's a good day :) That's all I'm saying about it. Really. Really good day.
